BILD Alberta is pleased to announce that Chris Plosz has been elected as Chair of the Association and will serve a one-year term.
Chris’ wealth of experience in the land development and housing industry includes executive leadership and management, land acquisition and investment, project financing, investor relations and housing operations. As President of Section23 Developments and Baywest Homes, Chris leads the development and implementation of their strategic plans, guiding the company’s housing, land development, project acquisitions and real estate investments, and leading a dynamic, performance-driven team of experts. Chris is a vocal housing industry advocate engaging with municipal and provincial governments through his service on numerous committees and boards including his past roles as Chairman of the Urban Development Institute (UDI Calgary), Director CHBA - Calgary Region and Director BILD Alberta.
Chris understands the value of a united industry voice. He knows builders, suppliers, renovators, and developers rely on consistency and predictability to ensure the housing industry can meet rising demand in Alberta. Never satisfied with the status quo, Chris is a leader focused on innovation and solutions for change that support challenges that are uniquely Alberta built.
BILD Alberta CEO Scott Fash said of the new Association Chair, “Chris continues to be an industry leader, dedicating his time and expertise to the association at various levels for more than a decade. I know the association and industry will greatly benefit from the knowledge, leadership and strategic thinking Chris is bringing to the role.”
Chris was officially named Association Chair at the 2023 BILD Alberta Association AGM in Banff on September 16, 2023. Having served as Chair on the industry’s local association and as a member of the BILD Alberta board before his appointment, Plosz looks forward to the coming year as the organization implements the updated strategic plan which includes a focus on building industry capacity.
Plosz noted, “Following the work completed earlier this year I am excited to see how we can develop strategies to build more capacity in our industry and work with the provincial government to support the housing and development industry to meet current and future demands.”
